North South Symposium on Education and Culture

This final symposium in our four-part series looked at the various implementation bodies and areas of co-operation under Strand 2 of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. These gave an important new framework for north-south relations. Keynote addresses were given by Professor Tony Gallagher of the School of Education, Queen's University Belfast, and Bob Collins, former Director General of RTÉ and former Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission and of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. We heard from the CEOs of the Ulster Scots Agency and Foras na Gaeilge. Other speakers talked of their experiences in the areas of education and culture.

The Irish Association acknowledge the support of the Irish Government for this symposium through the Shared Island Initiative.

Programme is available to download here.
